I had anxiety and depression most of my life and I didn't have the best practices for a healthy life. I ate candy bars and drank cola for breakfast every day. It paid off terribly when I got cancer at the age of 35. There was my wake-up call. I started investigating all kinds of healthy options such as green drinks, iridology, supplements, many diet and eating changes, affirmations....then I discovered yoga. My first yoga class had me hooked. I felt amazing after the postures and even better after the relaxation! I practiced yoga for a few years which curbed my anxiety then decided I wanted to help other people find the joys of yoga, so I got my Yoga Teaching Certificate from the Himalayan Institute in 2002 (although I had been teaching since 2000) and went on to study Yoga Therapy in California in 2008. I have recently added Qigong to my studies and find it is quite similar to yoga thus decided to pursue Qigong teacher training which I have now become a Nick Loffree certified Qigong teacher as of June 2021..
